The joint meeting of the Graph Theory and Combinatorics Branch of the Operations Research Society of China (ORSC) and the Standing Council (Committee) of the Graph Theory, Combinatorics, and Applications Professional Committee of the China Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (CSIAM) was successfully held at the Qishan Campus of Fujian Normal University.

The event was attended by Professor Zheng Jiajian, President of Fujian Normal University; Professor Zhao Guiping, Director of the Mathematics Division, Department of Mathematical and Physical Sciences, National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC)Researcher Yan Guiying, Secretary of the Party Committee, Secretary-General, and Vice President of ORSC; Professor Miao Zhengke, Chair of the ORSC Graph Theory and Combinatorics Branch and former Vice President of Jiangsu Normal University; and over 70 experts and scholars from across the country.

At the opening ceremony, President Zheng Jiajian warmly welcomed the attending experts, scholars, and guests. He provided a brief overview of the university’s development history and the progress of its mathematics discipline. He commended the two societies for their achievements in fostering communication among researchers in graph theory and combinatorics, advancing research in the field, and promoting science popularization. President Zheng expressed his hope that the experts and scholars would continue to support the university's development and engage in deeper and broader exchanges and collaborations. He envisioned these efforts contributing to enhancing China's research capabilities in graph theory, combinatorics, and their applications, as well as boosting the country’s international influence in these fields.

Following this, Professor Wang Guanghui, Secretary-General of the ORSC Graph Theory and Combinatorics Branch, and Professor Kang Liying, Secretary-General of the CSIAM Committee, outlined the key tasks for 2025.

The conference lasted for one and a half days. During the event, the participating experts and scholars engaged in in-depth discussions on various topics, including the development of the branch (specialized committee), the latest academic achievements in graph theory and combinatorics, the cultivation of young (female) scholars, and mechanisms for prospective interdisciplinary integration.
